Carved with a nod to island hospitality, this mid-century monkey pod wood tray from Woods of Hawaii brings warmth, movement, and natural charm to any surface. Its sculptural leaf shape and trio of curved compartments make it ideal for entertaining—think olives, nuts, sliced citrus—or simply catching keys, shells, or ephemera on an entry table.

Crafted in Honolulu during the postwar tiki decor wave (1950s–1970s), pieces like this were part of a handmade Hawaiian export boom. Monkey pod wood was prized for its rich grain, durability, and golden honey tone that ages beautifully.

Stamped on the underside with:
"Woods of Hawaii, Honolulu’s Finest, Genuine Monkey Pod Wood."

Shows a bit of surface wear to one far side (see last image), consistent with age and use, but the top is smooth and ready for service or display. A classic piece of Hawaiian heritage that fits right into today’s love for warm wood tones and organic form.
