Daniel Belliard Sigal (b. 1946, Bucharest) is a Romanian-born American artist celebrated for his mastery of Limoges-style enamel on copper. Trained at NYC’s High School of Music & Art and holding a Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University, Sigal seamlessly blends artistic technique with architectural refinement.

Working primarily in the mid-to-late 20th century, his signature works—often signed simply “Belliard”—feature impressionistic portrayals of equestrian scenes, French Quarter street views, and bucolic romantic vignettes . These pieces have appeared at auctions and online marketplaces, steadily appealing to collectors drawn to craftsmanship, nostalgia, and timeless storytellin.

  • Medium: Finest vitreous enamel painted on copper, prized for its jewel-like depth and permanent vibrancy

  • Condition: Immaculate — no scratches, chips, or fading; the glazed surfaces gleam as if newly crafted

  • Viewing experience: Each piece radiates color under light, framed in carved gilt wood with plush velvet liners that enhance both the enamel’s lustre and vintage charm

  •

These enamels transcend eras, effortlessly integrating into contemporary design trends:

  • Modern Minimalist: A jewel-toned focal point on a white wall—adds artistic warmth to sleek, pared-back settings

  • Eclectic Boho: Richly textured frames and romantic scenes blend beautifully with rattan, layered textiles, and global accents

  • Grandmillennial Appeal: Echoes traditional charm—pair with floral wallpaper, tufted upholstery, or scalloped accent pieces for that cozy-chic vibe

  • Modern Farmhouse: Infuses soft rustic palettes with old-world storytelling—perfect above a farmhouse console or reading nook

  • Contemporary Glam: Bold color, glossy glass surface, and gilt frames elevate luxe lacquer finishes, metallic fixtures, and polished décor
