Equal parts utility and design, this vintage carved wood and rattan vessel brings a warm, handcrafted touch to any corner. This is a legit retro island style vessel in pristine condition.
Likely made in the Philippines in the mid-20th century, the piece features a sculptural body of bent rattan slats anchored by a hand-carved hardwood rim and base, each etched with a continuous wave motif. The shape flares out gently from a narrow base, making it perfect for holding rolled washcloths, fresh greenery (with liner), or as a textural standalone object on a shelf or console.
Each rattan slat shows the character of age and use—subtle discoloration, a few surface marks, and the kind of natural wear that makes a piece worth collecting. A tiny split in the top wood band adds to its honest vintage condition.
