Raw, sculptural, and unapologetically elemental. This pair of cast iron candle holders embodies the mid-century Brutalist aesthetic, with sharply arched tripod legs, wide shallow platforms, and central pricket-style spikes for holding pillar candles.

Marked “Japan” on the underside, these were likely produced in the 1950s–1970s during Japan’s postwar export era, when industrial forms and organic imperfection found their way into modernist homes around the world.

The surface is a textured matte black with traces of rust peeking through—an authentic sign of age that adds dimension and character. They feel more like small-scale sculptures than simple candle holders.

Details:

• Mid-century Brutalist design, marked “Japan”

• Sold as a pair

• Approx. 3.5” wide x 2.5” tall
