This vintage brass Hanukkiah, handcrafted in Israel, carries deep spiritual and cultural meaning. It is designed for traditional oil use and includes all nine original cups—eight for the nights of Hanukkah, and a central shamash for lighting the others. A small matching pitcher for filling the oil is also included.
Flanking the base are two finely cast Maccabees, symbolic of the Hanukkah story—of resilience, rededication, and light in the face of darkness. Above them arches a Hebrew inscription:
הנרות הללו קודש הם
("HaNerot Halalu Kodesh Hem")
“These lights are holy.”This phrase comes from the ancient blessings recited each night of Hanukkah, a reminder that the lights of the menorah are sacred and meant to be seen, not used for ordinary tasks.
The menorah bears a “Made in Israel” mark on the underside along with a lion emblem, reflecting its origin in a formative era of Israeli craftsmanship—likely 1950s–1970s.
