A masterful display of caning signed 1997. No molds. No shortcuts. Just glass, fire, breath, and vision.

This isn’t just a bowl—it’s a burst of joy trapped in glass. Signed A. Garcia ’97, this radiant studio art glass piece comes from the early days of Antonio-Garcia Studio, founded by master glassblower Jesús Garcia in Los Angeles.

Garcia grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, in a family of generational glassmakers. By 17, he was already a master craftsman. When he moved to Southern California in 1980, he brought those deep artisanal roots with him—blending the rich traditions of Mexican glassblowing with the bold, expressive energy of the West Coast art scene. The result? Pieces like this.

Crafted in 1997, this bowl showcases the vibrant creativity that defines Garcia’s early work. A deep amethyst body is rimmed in chartreuse and studded with floating cane “targets” in red, black, and yellow. These embedded bursts of color—fused mid-process into the molten glass—are a signature move of high-skill studio glass artists, and a nod to Murano techniques with a Southern California attitude.

Measures: 4.25" deep with a 5.5" diameter

Style it with: Sculptural ceramics, low-slung walnut, or anywhere you want a punch of personality.
