Discovered at an estate sale in Palos Verdes, CA, this one called out to be rescued and re-styled to be enjoyed for many years to come. 
 
It's earthy and elemental and primal and we loved it!
This hand-built ceramic vessel plays tricks on the eye. Though its deep black surface and weighty form evoke carved stone or wood, it’s ceramic—expertly crafted with bold, spiral reliefs carved directly into the clay.
 
The natural-edged opening adds a sense of wild intention as if the piece were unearthed rather than made. Both sides feature abstract swirling patterns—like wind, waves, or wings in motion—giving it 360° presence. It's meant to have raw finishes and a rustic appearance.
 
This piece is right  at home in a minimalist setting, a wabi-sabi-inspired vignette, or as a soulful counterpoint to a clean-lined modern shelf.

• Good condition - looking very closely, one can detect a hairline crack around the base of the neck that looks like it was repaired in the past. It has been priced to take this into consideration.
